Extremely rare GLASS EYED K*R 114 with FLOCKED HAIR
This 20" character made by the firm of Kammer and Reinhardt during their glorious "artistic character" series, has several EXTREMELY RARE added attributes. One of which is that he has of GORGEOUS GLASS SLEEP EYES, instead of the painted ones possessed by most of his peers. Added to this, he is one of the only pieces I have EVER seen, with magnificent and pristine "flocked hair!!" Even IF a doll is found using this rare method of placing "flocking" of real human hair on a boy's head that beautifully simulates real "boy's" hair, the fragility of the hair most often results in there being a considerable loss, thus very much interfering with the intended look.
This consequently lead to the use of this method becoming all but extinct, as those dolls that had flocking, usually survived suffering a significant amount of hair loss. So to find an example in such a SUPER rare character, THEN to find him with this rarest procedure of flocked hair in superior condition, ADDED TO his already being rare because of his GLASS eyes, is a fantastic gift! And it suits him SO well! His countenance and artistically sculpted and modeled young age leads itself to such a great looking totally realistic hair-do, and the use of his jaunty sailor like tam finishes off the look to perfection!
He has flawless creamy, pale bisque, BEAUTIFUL painting with particular artistic perfection of his VERY FULL POUTY closed mouth done in a most stunning and soft shade of pale apricot with a slight glistening thus enhancing the lips to further perfection, and give them more plumpness and depth. As well, they are SO slightly indented in the middle, with the use of a darker paint to further accentuate this artistic nuance. In other words, his mouth is gorgeous!
His eyes are big and so hypnotic and his eyebrows are accomplished in the K*R typical "dash" effect. Over the eyes, which also helps to emphasize them, the artist used the marvelous "fringe" type of lash----just enough to accentuate those gorgeous eyes!
He is on his original composition fully jointed body, in excellent condition with no repainting, and is dressed in an adorable sailor type ensemble complete with large sailor collar, navy blue tie, matching tam, and binoculars with bird medallion and attached gold chain. Shoes are original character "tie" type with high woolen knot high stockings. He is completely incised on the back of his head, with NONE of those annoying wig pulls. This is a SUPER RARE version of this magnificent mold!
