French Signed Leather Slippers
Gorgeous pair of buttery soft dark brown leather French slippers, made even more desirable for the inscribed signature: "A La/Providence/74/Rue de Rivoli" and the size number "8" Jules Bonnet was the proprietor of this well known hoisery shop in Paris, "A La Providence," and taking great pride in the craftsmanship and style of his creations, signed his famous Bebe shoes during the years of operation, from 1880-1885.
The shoes still maintain their original contrasting cinnamon colored silk bows at the toes. The leather on these fashion slippers is extremely thin and fine, reminiscent of "glove" leather and so their excellent condition attests to the care taken by their original owners. It is indeed a shame that they have been disconnected from the original little feet that once occupied them------but how fortunate for the new Bebe who desperately desires such an outstanding pair of luxurious footwear!
They measure 2 7/8" in length by 1 1/8" at the widest part of the leather sole. Truly fabulous!
