MAGNIFICENT WIGGED 20" GRACE CORRY ROCKWELL
This is a superlative example of the antique German bisque character designed in the 1920"s by Grace Corry Rockwell in a totally elusive large 20" size. She has glorious, very pale and creamy bisque with an absolute dreamy quality about her expression. Her molding and painting is superb with the obvious goal of having her exude an innocent child-like quality. For example her brilliant golden brown sleep eyes are extraordinary in size AND shape, positively mesmerizing, giving credit to the artist's ability to achieve this very distinctive look! For further enhancement, she has her original real hair lashes, in remarkably PERFECT full condition, (which is virtually unheard of), and to add maximum drama, the artist then further accentuated the eyes by painting long lush quite precise lashes as well, both above and below! Basically, the eyes on both this example and her "sister" (with the red molded hair), are hypnotic. You cannot help but to be "drawn in" by them!
Her eyebrows are very pale and finely painted in the typical Rockwell manner, again adding a sweet innocence to the look. Lightly blushed cheeks and the most gorgeous peach coloring on her very full beautifully molded closed mouth.
She is on her original cloth body with perfect condition of her very heavy beautifully designed arms and legs. Her FABULOUS long very pale blonde mohair wig is like running your fingers through silk! SO beautiful, as is her phenomenal silk ribbon antique bonnet! JUST GORGEOUS, to compliment her STUNNING layered pink and white lace ensemble. The dress is just fantastic with so many exquisite different types of fine laces, done in the manner of a pinafore having THREE lace flounces along the bottom, and layered on top of a full length beautiful long sleeved frock with extravagant wide flowing lace encircling the wrists. And all this on top of other layers of slips and underwear, all beautifully and intricately designed. Original marching stockings with white leather soft boots complete the look.
The Rockwell German characters are SO RARE to find at all. But the size and quality of the two offered here are incomparable.
