There are some dolls that cause us to have immediate feelings of warmth and delight at first glance. They take us back to childhood and light up that far-a-way corner in our souls. Such are the characters of Pinocchio and his creator in the story, Geppetto. These examples were made by the phenomenally gifted hand of R. John Wright and are Circa 1994. Geppetto is made of felt, but has the wonderful feature of jointed knees so he has more mobility to sit or be posed. Pinocchio is beautifully carved of wood, and is fully jointed. Geppetto holds the wooden pieces in his hands, to which are attached marionette strings, which are then attached to Pinocchio. He needed those strings to move, of course, before he received his wish upon a star, and was magically transformed into a "real" boy. Geppetto stands 18" tall and Pinocchio 9". Geppetto has the original descriptive booklet hanging from his wrist, and has the original tag on his waist, and intact is the numbered certificate which matches the certificate number on their original R.John Wright Box. They are mint.
