15" earliest mark Portrait Jumeau Bebe

This is an astoundingly beautiful "earliest mark" Portrait Jumeau Bebe in completely original condition. She is 15" tall and is marked 2/0. Her straight wrist 8 ball composition body is signed with the Jumeau mark of "Jumeau Medaille D'or Paris." She has over-sized blue paperweight almond shaped spiral threaded eyes, that are outlined in black eyeliner. This type of eye is known as "wrap-a-round" as they give the appearance of going from one side of her face to the other, literally "wrapping around" her head! Her early pressed bisque is flawless and pale, with just the right amount of blushing to her cheeks and chin, and dark mauve coloring right above her eyes to further enhance them. Her closed mouth is beautifully painted in pale tones and is outlined in a darker color, and is darker in the space between the lips. Her eyebrows are very pale, thin and lightly feathered.

She is completely original, including her curly caracal wig, cork pate, and earrings. Her dress is an absolute confection of multi-colored silk in various textures, hand painted with silk flowers, heavy corded rosette wheels in the front and in the back, and is finished at the sleeves and at the bottom with delicate lace. Consideration is given to every minute detail and consequently, the back of the dress is as beautiful and well thought out as is the front! The dress has an attached slip, and her full slip and underwear all match, as do her palest pink leather shoes with the original buckles, having the keystone mark stamped on them, as so many of the shoes on Portraits have been found wearing. And her hat is a story in itself! Perfectly matching the rest of her ensemble, it exquisitely frames her magnificent countenance with pink silk ribbons and tiny silk flowers. She is one of the most beautiful examples of the early mark portrait that we have ever seen. This is a fabulous opportunity to own a museum-quality, pristine example of this doll. As I have often said, dolls in this all original condition, especially early ones, are getting close to impossible to acquire and should be cherished.
