Kammer and Reinhardt rare glass eyed 112 German character
This choice rarity made by the German firm of Kammer and Reinhardt would be a glorious addition to anyone's antique doll collection even if he had painted eyes, which is of course the way this mold is found, whenever he CAN be found. But with the phenomenally and ULTRA RARE addition of his GLASS SLEEPING EYES, AND his dramatic LARGE 20" size, he is K&R character royalty!
SO FEW German characters of this elite quality and rarity of mold numbers like a Kammer and Reinhardt 112, are found in large sizes, and if so, they are almost never offered! This child has extraordinary characteristics including pale luminous bisque, beautiful painting of his features including his open-closed mouth emphasized by the fact that it is superbly painted in such a way that is truly glistens! His glorious thick tongue is SO realistically modeled, not to mention his 2 upper perfectly molded bisque teeth to further accentuate the complete look of realism, that the inside of his mouth absolutely appears to be "wet!" Wonderful "fringe" eyelashes favored by K&R, and exceptionally deep laugh lines/dimples. on the top AND bottom of the corners of his lips! Truly extraordinary--------the molding on this beautiful boy is just so phenomenal!
He has his original pate and short, thick, mohair "boy's cut" wig in excellent condition, and he is on his original completely jointed heavy composition beautifully muscularly molded body with no repaint, in excellent condition, complete with red outlining for each finger nail still being intact.
He is positively resplendent in a FABULOUS ensemble made of dark green, heavy wool serge, including pants, an OUTSTANDING jacket with double pockets on each side, hand stitched banded waist, and to die for, FANTASTIC matching cap, with GREAT antique brass buttons, ALL MATCHING and ALL THERE!! Underneath, is a khaki colored shirt and tie. The numerous details of this antique ensemble is just SO marvelous, (don't miss all the details on the BACK as well), it really could not be better! Then he has matching high socks and excellent black leather German character tie shoes to complete his look.
He is a GREAT RARE CHARACTER, with THE best molding and presence, sporting a fabulous antique ensemble. He is sensational in every way.
