FRENCH IVORY BOUQUET HOLDER
Sometimes it is true that the most exquisite things are also quite diminutive in stature. This is such a rare and wonderful French accessory and so delicate and intricately carved that it is almost incomprehensible that it has survived from the 1800's. And it is in fantastic and sturdy condition, no breaks and perfectly held together!! It is 1 1/2" tall including the tiny round base. The width is 1 1/4" and it is contains tiny pale pastel colored flowers and teeny buds on even tinier stems.
The bouquet holder is cut out with marvelous designs and throughout the top portion, there are actually silk rosettes where each ivory piece is joined together. Each of these 6 pieces being made separately and then held together with ribbons, is what accounts for it's superb unusual shape. And along the bottom, silk ribbon has been intertwined, much similar to the way miniature French ivory fans were designed. The workmanship is just amazing!
This extravagant French ivory accessory can be beautifully placed on a desk, or table, or simply held in the arms of a Bebe. However you choose to display this piece, it makes a gorgeous statement. EVERYTHING about this accessory is incredible and unusual and so choice.
